Sexting PSA

During a CAN meeting last year we were brainstorming possible PSA ideas, this was when we thought of “When did NO turn into YES.” Another concept that we felt strongly about was showing kids and teens to “Beware what you share.” The goal was to show how sexting (sending explicit photos or messages via phone) can spread to a wider audience than you may have intended. We see this happen in our community often when teens send each other pictures and the receiver shows his/her friends…or even worse, forwards it to someone else!

During a training last week, the Palm Beach County School Board Police shared a video they use for their trainings that depicted exactly what we had discussed. It is from ThinkUKnow; an Internet safety program delivering interactive training to parents, carers and teachers through schools and organisations across Australia using a network of accredited trainers from our partner agencies.
