logo (1)

After the success of June’s 0/6 Women’s Self Defense class, Julie Duresky has again teamed up with CAN member Julie Weil and Haute Yoga Clematis to host a women’s self defense class on August 29, 2015.

Where: Haute Yoga Clematis

225 Clematis St, Suite 200, West Palm Beach, FL 33401

When: Saturday, August 29, 2015 from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm

How to register:

1 out of 6 women will be sexually assaulted in their lifetimes. Let’s turn that stat to zero together learning how to be aware and defend yourself in case of an attack. The venue, instructors, & snacks ALL donated so 100% of the profits will go directly to rape victim advocacy and the Butterfly House, a rape crisis center for Palm Beach County, inspired in part by rape survivor, Julie Weil.

In 2002, Julie, a mother of two, was abducted in her church parking lot at noon with her children. She was raped four times in front of her children that day in the Everglades. I tell you this not to shock but so you realize it truly can be anyone, anywhere, at anytime.

This class will be partially geared towards high school and college students, discussing awareness techniques to be applied on dates, on campus, and other situations that young women encounter. However, all self-defense techniques will be the same as a normal class.

Join me for a two hour self-defense class with martial arts professional Howard Freedland and his black belt team of Jupiter Traditional Martial Arts Club followed by a social hour with donated snacks from Christopher’s Kitchen.

Tickets are just $25 with a small online transaction fee. As always, please feel free to donate any amount you would like to contribute to Butterfly House. Every $10 provides a shower, toothbrush, cotton underwear, clean clothes, and flip flops so she may begin her recovery afresh. Please visit their website

Please wear comfortable workout clothes and bring a bottle of water.

Thank you and I look forward to seeing you for an incredible event together!
