Flash Mob steps up for survivors of sexual assault!
We are moving in the right direction.
Survivors of sexual assault joined with Palm Beach County Victim Services & Certified Rape Crisis Center staff & community members to show survivors that we stand (and dance) with them. This event kicked off Victims Rights Week & commemorates April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM).
On Saturday, April 18th, 2015, 300 people gathered, with over 100 dancers, led by survivor-singer, Antonia Jenae Williams. Julie Weil, community activist/survivor, commented “Saturday night’s event was really special and hopefully served as a good visual reminder of how much support there is in PB County for victims of sexual violence. Thanks again to my friends and family who came out and danced with me. You make my heart happy.” If you’ve never seen a Flash Mob, or danced in one, don’t miss next year’s 2016 annual Flash Mob Dance at CityPlace, West Palm Beach.

Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) Day of Action
We chose this day, The SAAM Day of Action, to hold the inaugural meeting of the Survivor Action Team. This day is nationally recognized in the United States as a specific day to focus awareness on sexual violence prevention. Through coordinated planning of special events, advocates can raise awareness, media attention and national momentum for ending and preventing sexual violence.
